Estate of Paul & Hurda Sue Romines-Walker – Exceptional Knoxville Estate Sale
DESIGNER MID-CENTURY MODERN • FINE ART • JAPANESE COLLECTIONS
Seven Seas Estate Sales is honored to present an exceptional Estate Sale in Knoxville from the Estate of Paul & Hurda Sue Romines-Walker, October 23–24. Paul Walker was a well-known professor of art at the University of Tennessee and served as an ambassador to Knoxville’s sister city in Japan, a country he visited frequently. Together, Paul and Hurda Sue created a beautiful and distinctive home reflecting a lifelong appreciation for art, design and international culture.
This is far from an ordinary estate sale. The home contains a magnificent collection of Mid-Century Modern and Danish Modern furnishings, including designs by Charles & Ray Eames, George Nelson, Isamu Noguchi and Eero Saarinen, with authentic examples from Herman Miller and Knoll, as well as fine Danish furniture by Vildbjerg Møbelfabrik, Nordisk Andels-Eksport, Trioh, Ansager Møbler and other Scandinavian makers.
The estate also reflects Paul’s life as an artist, educator and international traveler, with an outstanding assortment of original and collected artwork, Japanese and Asian decorative arts, pottery, ceramics, books, textiles and personal collections throughout the home.
